If your Google Ads account reports leads your sales team never sees, or sales that never show up as conversions, Smart Bidding is learning from bad data. This page explains what proper tracking help includes, lists providers in Dubai and the UAE that publicly offer it, and gives you questions to ask before you hire anyone.

Signs your tracking is broken

  • Conversions jumped overnight with no change in sales or leads.
  • Google Ads shows roughly double the orders your store or CRM recorded.
  • Conversions dropped to zero after a website update or theme change.
  • A page view, such as a thank you page reload, counts as a lead.
  • Most conversions are clicks on a phone number or WhatsApp button, with no record of which became customers.
  • GA4 and Google Ads disagree, and nobody can explain why.
  • Spam form submissions count the same as real enquiries.

Any one of these means your bids are being set on numbers you cannot trust.

What good tracking help covers

A proper fix is more than pasting a tag. Expect a provider to cover most of the following, depending on your business.

GA4. Correct key events, ecommerce events with order values in AED, cross-domain tracking where checkout or booking sits on another domain, and filters for internal traffic.

Google Tag Manager. One clean container, no tags firing twice because they are both hard coded and in GTM, clear naming, and a record of who changed what.

Google Ads conversion actions. The right actions set as primary for bidding and the rest as secondary for reporting, the correct counting setting (one per click for leads, every conversion for sales), and real values where you have them. GA4 key events only feed bidding once they are imported into Google Ads as conversions.

Enhanced conversions. Hashed first-party data, such as email and phone, sent with each conversion so Google can match more of them to ad clicks. This applies to website sales and to leads.

Offline and CRM imports. For lead businesses, the form submission is only the start. Good help connects your CRM, whether HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho or similar, so qualified leads and closed deals flow back to Google Ads, with the click ID stored on each record. Then bidding can chase customers instead of form fills.

Call tracking. Calls from ads and from the website, with a minimum call length so short and wrong number calls do not count as conversions.

WhatsApp tracking. In the UAE, many enquiries start on WhatsApp. A button click can be tracked, but a click is not a lead. Better setups log each chat in a CRM or WhatsApp Business platform, mark which chats were qualified, and import those.

Consent mode. If you get visitors from the EEA or UK, Google requires consent signals for ad personalisation there. A consent banner connected to consent mode keeps measurement working within the rules. For UAE visitors, ask your legal adviser how UAE data protection law applies to your site.

Testing and handover. Every change checked in Tag Assistant and GA4 DebugView, a test conversion recorded, and a short document listing each conversion, where it fires and why it exists.

Can you fix it yourself?

If you have one simple conversion, such as purchases on a Shopify store, the platform's own Google integration can get you a long way. Bring in help when you have several conversion points, a CRM, cash on delivery orders, WhatsApp or phone leads, or when the numbers disagree and you cannot find the cause. Those are the cases where small setup errors quietly steer your budget.

Questions to ask before you hire

  1. Will you audit first and show me, in writing, what is broken before you quote for the fix?

  2. Will the GA4 property, GTM container and Google Ads conversion actions stay in my own accounts, with my admin access?

3How will you test each conversion, and will you show me the results?

  1. Which actions will be primary for bidding, and why? Changing them affects Smart Bidding, so ask the provider to explain the effect before switching.

5Can you send qualified leads or sales from my CRM back to Google Ads?

6How will you handle WhatsApp and phone enquiries?

  1. Do you set up consent mode, and who decides the consent banner wording?

8What documentation do I get at the end?

  1. Is the price fixed for a defined scope, or hourly? What happens if you find more problems along the way?

A provider who answers these clearly, without jargon, will be easier to work with, whatever their size.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How do I know if my Google Ads conversion tracking is broken?

Common signs are conversions that jump or drop to zero with no change in sales, Google Ads showing far more orders than your store or CRM, and page views or button clicks counted as leads. If GA4 and Google Ads disagree and nobody can explain why, get it checked.

Q. What are enhanced conversions?

Enhanced conversions send hashed first-party data, such as email and phone number, with each conversion so Google can match more conversions to ad clicks. They work for website sales and for leads.

Q. Can Google Ads track WhatsApp leads?

A click on a WhatsApp button can be tracked, but a click is not a lead. To bid on real enquiries, record qualified chats in your CRM and import them into Google Ads as offline conversions.

Q. Do I need consent mode for a UAE website?

If you get visitors from the EEA or UK, Google requires consent signals for ad personalisation there, and consent mode is the usual way to send them. For UAE visitors, ask your legal adviser how UAE data protection law applies to your site.

Q. How long does a tracking fix take?

It depends on how many conversion points you have and whether a CRM import is needed. Ask any provider for a written scope and timeline after their audit.

More questions about Google Ads conversion tracking in Dubai

Will fixing tracking change my Google Ads results?

Smart Bidding learns from the conversions you count, so when tracking changes the bidding adjusts too. Expect a short period of movement, and agree with your provider which actions stay primary so the change is planned, not a surprise.

What should I get at the end of a tracking project?

A list of every tag and conversion action, what each one counts, where it fires and who has access. Keep it with your account so the next person who works on it does not have to start from zero.

Who should own the Google Tag Manager and GA4 accounts?

Your business should. Ask the provider to work inside accounts created under your company's Google login, with their access added as a user, so you keep the data and the setup if you ever change providers.

Should I track phone calls from Google Ads?

If customers call you, yes. Calls from ads and from your website can be counted as conversions, and setting a minimum call length helps keep wrong numbers and very short calls out of the count.

What is the difference between primary and secondary conversion actions?

Primary actions are the ones Smart Bidding optimises for, while secondary actions are recorded for reporting only. Keep primary actions to the results that matter to the business, such as qualified leads or sales, and leave clicks and page views as secondary.

Can a tracking provider fix problems without changing my website design?

Usually yes. Most tracking work happens in Google Tag Manager, GA4 and the ad account, with small additions to forms or thank you pages. Ask the provider to list any change they need on the site before they start.
